Weather Watch
Keep a two-week weather journal and discover the patterns hiding in everyday conditions.
Ideas for our first student-led projects. Each one is a planned concept: dates, sites and participation arrangements are still to be confirmed.
Keep a two-week weather journal and discover the patterns hiding in everyday conditions.
Compare sunny and shaded places. Investigate how trees and surfaces shape local temperatures.
Plan a supervised cleanup and document what a small team can achieve together.
Students bring the ideas; adult guidance helps turn them into safe, supervised activities. Parents, guardians and educators can get in touch about a project.
Get involvedChoose a safe observation spot with an adult. Record clouds, wind, and available temperature or rainfall measurements at a consistent time for two weeks.
Compare your journal with an approved nearby weather source. Make a chart, write down one pattern, and present one question you would investigate next.

Planned activityWith adult supervision, choose nearby sunny and shaded locations. Use the same instrument and consistent measurement methods. Avoid extreme heat and hazardous conditions.
Repeat your observations and compare the results. Explain how shade and surfaces may affect conditions. Remember that a small experiment does not establish a long-term climate trend.

Planned activityChoose a school or park site with permission. An adult should arrange supervision, supplies and safe disposal. Do not handle sharp objects, unknown chemicals or hazardous litter.
Record participation and the litter safely collected. Create a short reflection on what you found and how the community could reduce waste.
